Norwegian dances
with Vilde Frang and Terje Tønnesen

Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Norwegian guest concertmaster Terje Tønnesen present two passionate programmes: ‘Norwegian dances’ and ‘The New Four Seasons’ with works of Janáček and Grieg. Other works include a violin concerto by Mozart – with Vilde Frang as soloist – and a highly original version of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

From 19 to 27 February Amsterdam Sinfonietta and the Norwegian guest concertmaster Terje Tønnesen present two different programmes throughout the Netherlands. The programme ‘Norwegian dances’ will be performed on 19 and 20 February (and on 24 February in Budapest). The Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang joins the ensemble for the first time, performing Mozart’s Fifth Violin Concerto. The programme also includes works of Grieg, Janáček and Åm. The second programme ‘The New Four Seasons’ will be heard on 21 and 27 February. Centrepiece of the programme is Vivaldi’s masterpiece The Four Seasons, in a unique version by Terje Tønnesen himself. Tønnesen has added percussion, recorded sounds and newly composed interludes.
